Abstract

Institutional repository is one of the research infrastructures that allows researchers to preserve the results of research involving scientific papers, research data, and also other forms of research. In addition to storage, the repository developed into one facility for collaborative research activities. Research data which generated from current research activities is a valuable asset for researchers, research institutions, and funders. In order to optimized benefits from research data, a repository needs to be developed so that it can be used to manage research data. This research is to find out the development of a repository from three perspectives namely policy, infrastructure, and organizational culture. Data was collected from the repository managers of research institutions which under the supervision program of the center of excellence (PUI) fostering program of the ministry of research and technology / National Research and Innovation Agency. On the policy side, most have policies related to the management of institutional repository and need to be supported in relation to research management policies. In terms of infrastructure, most research institutions do not yet have a repository that can be used for research data management. In the cultural aspect, most of the research carried out successfully achieved the benefits of institutions that can be used for research activities. Nevertheless, more efforts are needed to encourage researchers to be willing to manage research data by using a management repository.
