THE INFLUENCE OF THE MENOPAUSAL PSYCHOEDUCATION AND RELAXATION TO ALLEVIATE OF PERIMENOPAUSAL WOMAN

Abstract
The aim of this study is to alleviate anxiety on perimenopausal woman through menopausal psychoeducation and relaxation. The data were obtained through the TMAS ( Taylor manifest anxiety scale) anxiety scale and the intervention that is used is psychoeducation and relaxation. The intervention was done on the experiment group in 5 times meeting, twice a week.
The subjek of this study are women live in Kelurahan Terban, Kecamatan Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta. who have perimenopausal syndrome such as irregular menstrual cycle in the lost 6 months or 1 year, and those has hot flashes, sweeting night and sleep disorder. Subjek into two groups, which are experiment group consists of 6 subjects and control goup consists of 5 subjects. The data is analyzed by using non parametric test with the mann-whitney to identify the effect of the provision of the psychoeducation and relaxation toward the reduction of the anxiety score on experiment and control group. Besides, the study also analyzed the data with Wilcoxon.
The result of the data processing with the Wilcoxon shows a significance in experiment group, which is p=0.027 (p<0,05) and Z score is -2,207, while control group does not shows significance which is p=0,102 (p>0.05) and Z score is 1,633. Mann whitney test shows that the significance which is p=0021 (p<0,05) and Z score is -2,303, this indicates that there is a difference between experiment group after given intervention, just than control group
The conclusion of the study is that there is an effect of the menopausal psychoeducation and relaxation to alleviate the anxiety of perimenopausal women on experiment group. However the anxiety score in the control group does not alleviate.
